My thoughts on Slackware, life and everything

I got the flu, no new software or posts while I get better

I caught a bad case of it, I have been slowly deteriorating during the week and not accepting it, and I was finally felled on thursday evening.

If you wondered, why no new calibre packages, why no talk about the upcoming libreoffice or KDE, well that is why. I am unable to work on computers right now.

See you soon. Eric

    Get well soon.
Recently a colleague catch flu on the way from Chicago to Belgrade. I heard a joke from him:

A man walks into the pharmacy and asks the pharmacist, ”Do you have any acetylsalicylic acid?”
“Do you mean aspirin?” says the pharmacist.
“That’s it, I can never remember that word.”

I hope it doesn’t last too long for you. The flu is rampant here in Kentucky, but does seem to be slowing down. I’ve been lucky so far, but l’m still hoping to escape this time. Just take care of yourself.

    Hi Eric,

take your time to recover fully, and don’t make the mistake trying to accelerate things. The current flu virus struck down lots of people here, and those who thought they could work again after only 8 days, had to stay in bed for another two weeks, in the end. So take care and don’t hurry.

We have a saying: If you visit a doctor the flu will take 14 days, but if you don’t it will last for two weeks. 😉

Stay in bed and keep warm for few days (even if you feel better). Drink a lot (not alcohol, of course). Get Vit C and rutin. Chicken soup is really good against flu.

Eric, get well soon! Keep your fluid intake up so as not to have dehydration. Rest will help you and be sure to eat lightly. Chicken soup or broth helps. Unsalted soda crackers will help settle the stomach which can be a problem with all the coughing. Maybe; http://altmedicine.about.com/od/coldsandflu/a/fluremedy.htm “which is why you should talk with a qualified healthcare provider if you think you may have the flu.”

Flu – have your blood level of vit d3 tested – should be minimum 50. See http://www.VitaminDCouncil.com for research, test nomenclature and parameters. Test not expensive and supplements are relative cheap.

Coincidentally, improving the level of Vti D3 will also help inpreventing several different cancers, MS and a host of other difficulties.

Also note the essentials that go with it – magnesium and calcium with natural fat (during a meal, tight after, etc.

    thanks for your Slack work!
